Job Title

Analog Mixed-Signal Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and optimize analog and mixed-signal integrated circuits used in client computing platforms and SoCs. Work with architecture, layout, test, and cross-functional teams to deliver analog IP that meets system-level power, performance, area, timing, and yield targets.

Role is based in Intel sites in California (Folsom / Santa Clara) and is eligible for the company's hybrid work model.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Typical experience: ~4+ years with a Bachelor's degree or ~2+ years with a Master's degree (see Education Requirements for full details).

Responsibilities

Primary technical responsibilities include circuit design, verification, and integration.

  • Design, develop, and optimize analog circuits for advanced process nodes and mixed-signal IPs.
  • Create circuit floorplans, perform transistor-level design, extract parameters, and run analog simulations.
  • Develop and execute test plans; verify designs against circuit and block specifications.
  • Analyze test results to validate functionality and optimize for power, performance, area, timing, and yield.
  • Collaborate with architecture, layout, and verification teams to resolve design issues and ensure robustness.
  • Support integration of analog blocks into system-on-chip designs.

Requirements

Minimum technical skills and constraints required to be considered for the role.

Must have:

  • Experience designing, developing, and building analog circuits in advanced process nodes for analog and mixed-signal IPs.
  • Proficiency with circuit simulation tools (e.g., Cadence ADE, Synopsys PrimeWave) and layout tools (e.g., Cadence Virtuoso).
  • Experience verifying functionality and optimizing circuits for power, performance, area, timing, and yield.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and effective written/verbal communication for cross-functional collaboration.

Nice to have:

  • Exposure to device physics, power delivery, and power integrity domains.
  • Design experience with thermal sensors and fuse circuits.

Note: This position is not eligible for Intel immigration sponsorship.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related technical field plus 4+ years of relevant experience; OR a Master's degree in those fields plus 2+ years of relevant experience. Ph.D. in a related field is listed as preferred.
