Role Summary
Internship within the Analog Front End (AFE) team focused on biosensing for medical and wearable devices. The role centers on prototyping, testing, and evaluating TI signal-chain and power-conversion solutions for PPG, ECG, SpO2 and bio-impedance applications.
The intern will work with local Application Engineers and Systems experts, present findings internally and to customers, and may support customer visits alongside Field Sales and Field Application Engineers.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship for students (intern). Typical candidate: current engineering student with practical lab experience; no specific years of professional experience required.
Responsibilities
Primary project activities and expected deliverables:
- Prototype and test TI solutions in the signal chain and power conversion for wearable biosensing applications.
- Evaluate and compare TI technologies versus competing solutions on technical and price metrics.
- Design, assemble, and validate at least one PCB demonstrator where feasible.
- Collect data, analyze results, and produce technical reports and presentations for internal teams and customers.
- Define project scope and select focus areas (hardware, firmware, algorithms) with guidance from mentors.
- Support Field Sales and Field Application Engineers during customer visits and technical reviews.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and capabilities; preferred items noted separately.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope, multimeter, waveform generator, active loads).
- Good communication and presentation skills; ability to document and present technical results.
- Ability to prototype, test, and debug hardware and mixed-signal circuits.
- Minimum B2 level of English for verbal and written communication.
- Nice-to-have: experience with schematic capture and PCB layout; prior exposure to PPG/ECG/bio-impedance signal chains.
