Role Summary

The Analog Design Staff Engineer at Synopsys is responsible for overseeing complex analog and mixed-signal designs end-to-end, influencing architectural decisions, and mentoring junior engineers. The role focuses on high-speed connections in various technologies including AI, cloud, and automotive.

Experience Level

Senior level; typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

The position includes, but is not limited to, the following responsibilities:

• Taking end-to-end ownership of analog and mixed-signal blocks in high-speed SERDES designs.
• Making architectural and circuit-level tradeoffs to optimize power, performance, area, and reliability.
• Defining, verifying, and documenting testbenches for pre-silicon validation.
• Leading custom analog layout coordination and ensuring parasitic awareness.
• Driving quality sign-off processes including PVT, mismatch, aging, reliability, and yield analysis.
• Aligning system-level interfaces for seamless integration across teams.
• Executing silicon bring-up and characterization against design specifications.
• Providing mentorship and technical leadership within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following qualifications:

• MS or PhD in Electronics/Computer Engineering or equivalent.
• Deep analog/MS knowledge in deep sub-micron CMOS technology.
• Experience in architecture tradeoffs and production silicon.
• Strong custom analog layout collaboration skills.
• Excellent communication skills with an ability to influence across teams.

Education Requirements

Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electronics or Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
