Analog Design Staff Engineer

Role Summary

You will be an experienced analog circuit designer at the forefront of semiconductor innovation with over a decade of hands-on expertise in high-speed Multi-Gbps NRZ & PAM4 SerDes IP and advanced process nodes such as FinFET technologies. Your primary focus will be on translating complex SerDes standards into robust, high-performance circuit architectures while navigating transistor-level design, system-level budgeting, and analog/digital co-design.

Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret SerDes standards to define and refine transceiver architectures and specifications.
  • Investigate and architect solutions to performance bottlenecks, enhancing power, area, and speed.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for efficient design and verification processes.
  • Guide physical layout efforts to achieve manufacturable designs with minimal parasitics.
  • Implement design and verification strategies using simulation tools and present technical data to stakeholders.
  • Document design features, test plans, and results to support knowledge sharing and customer engagements.
  • Consult on electrical characterization and identify opportunities for design improvements.
  • Drive innovation in high-speed SerDes IP development and contribute to next-generation connectivity solutions.
  • Support system teams and develop tasks to enhance productivity and quality.

Requirements

  • M.A.Sc. with 8+ years or PhD with 4+ years of relevant analog IC design experience.
  • Deep knowledge in circuit/system modelling, analog circuit design, and communications theory.
  • Proven experience in Multi-Gbps high-speed SerDes architectures and design of complex components.
  • Expertise in analog/digital co-design and ESD design techniques.
  • Proficiency in schematic entry, physical layout, and verification tools, particularly SPICE and Verilog-A.
  • Strong understanding of system-level budgeting, signal integrity, and reliability-focused design.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills, with the ability to present technical data effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to continuous learning.

Education Requirements

M.A.Sc. or PhD in a related field with the specified years of relevant experience.
