Analog Design Intern
Role Summary
Short-term summer internship supporting analog and mixed-signal IC design, simulation, verification, and silicon bring-up on a hybrid schedule in Duluth, GA.
Work closely with senior analog designers and cross-functional teams (digital, layout, verification, product engineering) to move designs through real silicon development flows.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship (summer). This is a hands-on position intended for students seeking practical IC design experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities during the internship:
- Assist in design, modeling, and transistor-level simulation of low-power analog circuits using standard EDA tools.
- Perform SPICE-based simulations and corner/Monte Carlo analysis across PVT and temperature ranges.
- Contribute to schematic capture, design reviews, documentation, and test plans.
- Support layout engineers by providing layout guidelines, reviewing matching‑critical devices, and validating post‑layout simulations.
- Participate in silicon bring-up and lab measurements; collaborate with digital, layout, and product teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience:
- Strong understanding of CMOS device physics and analog building blocks (op-amps, current mirrors, bias circuits).
- Knowledge of circuit analysis and feedback theory; familiarity with high-speed communication circuits.
- Experience with SPICE-based simulation tools (Cadence/Spectre, HSPICE, LTspice, Eldo, etc.).
- Familiarity with lab equipment and basic measurement techniques for silicon characterization.
- Analytical skills, attention to detail, and eagerness to learn from senior engineers.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing a Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. PhD preferred.
