Analog Circuit Design Engineer
Intel CorporationJob Title
Analog Circuit Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and implement integrated voltage regulator (IVR) and power-management analog/mixed-signal circuits for advanced processors and SoCs. Work across architecture, transistor-level design, verification, layout collaboration, and post-silicon characterization to meet performance, yield, and reliability targets. Role is based in Bangalore and eligible for a hybrid work model.
Experience Level
Mid-level - 3β7 years of professional analog IC design experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Define circuit architecture and develop analog topologies (op-amps, bandgaps, ADC/DAC, PLLs) for IVR/power-management blocks.
- Perform transistor-level design using industry-standard tools and flows.
- Run extensive simulations including Monte Carlo, corner, noise, and stability analyses to ensure yield and robustness.
- Oversee and collaborate with layout engineers on placement, matching, shielding, and parasitic minimization.
- Verify designs with SPICE-based simulators and behavioral models; develop Verilog-A/Verilog-AMS models as needed.
- Bench-test and characterize silicon prototypes; debug hardware anomalies and compare post-silicon results to pre-silicon models.
- Work cross-functionally with system, digital, and test teams to meet system-level performance and manufacturability goals.
Requirements
Required technical skills and experience:
- Expert knowledge of MOSFET/BJT device physics, small-signal modeling, and aging effects.
- Proficiency with Cadence (Spectre/Virtuoso) and other EDA tool suites (Mentor, Synopsys, or equivalent).
- Deep understanding of signal integrity topics: thermal noise, jitter, crosstalk, and PSRR.
- Familiarity with mixed-signal behavioral modeling (Verilog-A or Verilog-AMS).
- Experience with transistor-level simulation practices (Monte Carlo, corner, noise, yield analysis).
- Hands-on post-silicon lab experience for bench characterization and debug of analog/mixed-signal ICs.
- Experience designing for FinFET or planar CMOS process nodes.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills for feedback-system analysis and stability.
Education Requirements
BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering (EE) with a concentration in Analog IC Design.
