Algorithm Manager

Role Summary

Lead the design and delivery of image-processing and machine-learning algorithms for wafer inspection systems within the LS-SWIFT division. The role partners with systems, product, and domain experts and represents the algorithms team during system-level integration.

Primary mission: develop, validate, and deploy computer-vision and ML solutions that meet defined performance targets for high-volume semiconductor inspection products, and mentor engineering teammates.

Experience Level

Senior. Typical background: PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience, or MS/MTech/BTech/BS with 6+ years (see Education Requirements for full details).

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include technical leadership, algorithm development, and cross-team integration:

• Provide technical leadership in algorithm design and development for wafer inspection products.
• Collaborate with system, product, and domain experts to define algorithm performance requirements and deliver customer-driven solutions.
• Mentor and motivate engineers to solve complex technical and investigative problems.
• Represent the algorithms team during system-level hardware and software integration activities.
• Develop, validate, and deploy image processing, computer vision, and machine learning algorithms.
• Support software quality, reliability, and the development lifecycle for algorithm code.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and qualities:

• Strong background in image processing and computer vision.
• Working knowledge of machine learning and deep learning techniques.
• Proficient in C/C++ and MATLAB; experience on Unix/Linux platforms.
• Hands-on experience with object-oriented and/or functional programming.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Good communication and collaboration skills and emerging technical leadership capability.

Nice-to-have:

• Python and experience with ML frameworks (for example, TensorFlow).

Education Requirements

PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics with 3+ years of relevant experience; or MTech/MS/BTech/BS in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with 6+ years of relevant experience. Equivalent practical experience considered where indicated.
