Job Title

AI Tools Development Intern

Role Summary

Intern position supporting design, development, and validation of AI tools within the AI Community of Practice. The role works alongside experienced engineers across hardware and software teams to deliver testing, documentation, and tool support.

This is a hands-on engineering internship focused on practical hardware design exposure and cross-functional collaboration with teams such as Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, and software engineering.

Experience Level

Entry-level / Internship. This role is intended for students or early-career candidates; 3+ months of relevant electrical engineering experience is listed as a minimum.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities during the internship include design support, testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

  • Assist senior engineers in the design and development of AI tools and related hardware under guidance.
  • Participate in hardware design activities and hands-on testing of hardware systems.
  • Document design changes, test results, and technical findings.
  • Collaborate with Signal Integrity, Power Integrity, software engineering, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Follow established engineering processes, quality standards, and safety guidelines.

Requirements

Must-have items and candidate expectations; preferred skills listed separately.

  • Minimum 3+ months experience in Electrical Engineering (digital and analog electronics) through work, internships, or coursework.
  • Advanced English proficiency (written and spoken).
  • Ability to work in a team, take ownership of assigned tasks, and manage multiple tasks.
  • Must have unrestricted, permanent right to work in Mexico (no visa sponsorship available).
  • Resume in English required at application; multiple versions may be uploaded but an English resume is required for consideration.
  • If hired in Mexico, candidate must provide Mexican personal identification: NSS, RFC, and CURP.

Nice-to-have / preferred:

  • Knowledge of computer architecture.
  • Familiarity with software development and AI concepts.
  • Intermediate programming skills in Python.
  • Ability to read and interpret electronic component datasheets.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical degree or equivalent practical experience. The posting allows equivalent combinations of schoolwork, internships, research, or industry-relevant experience.
