Aeon Modeling Software Intern

Role Summary

Join Apple Silicon Engineering's AMS Modeling Software team to develop AI-driven hardware modeling tools that support SoC architecture, design and verification. The team builds fast, accurate software models of analog and mixed-signal circuits and combines software engineering, machine learning and LLM-driven workflows.

Experience Level

Internship - intended for students currently enrolled in university. Availability: minimum 6 months.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design and implement production-quality software (Python and/or C++) for modeling analog and mixed-signal circuits such as SerDes, PLLs, memory interfaces and data converters.
• Develop machine-learning surrogate models and the data pipelines trained on circuit simulations and silicon measurements.
• Create LLM-powered and agent-based workflows to automate model generation, code translation, test generation and documentation.
• Build automated frameworks to verify model accuracy against SPICE simulations and silicon measurements, and optimize performance via GPU acceleration, parallel execution and model order reduction.
• Work closely with system architects, circuit designers and verification engineers to convert specifications into software and ML solutions, and write clear documentation on usage and accuracy bounds.
• Work with AI coding agents while owning design decisions, code quality and correctness.

Requirements

Must-have and preferred skills:

• Must-have: Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++; ability to produce production-quality code and take ownership of correctness.
• Must-have: Interest or coursework in machine learning, data pipelines or related software tools.
• Must-have: Available for a 6-month internship or longer.
• Nice-to-have: Familiarity with analog and mixed-signal circuits and SPICE simulation workflows.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with surrogate modeling, GPU acceleration, parallel execution or model order reduction.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with LLMs, agent-based workflows, or ML model validation frameworks.
• Nice-to-have: Strong collaboration and documentation skills.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in the first year of a Bachelor's, Master's or PhD program in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
