Role Overview

The Video Hardware Block Verification Engineer is responsible for developing and executing verification plans for video hardware components including video decode, encode, and processing. This role entails working on hardware block testbench verification within a dedicated verification group to ensure video hardware blocks function correctly and reliably.

Experience Level

Mid-Career (7-10 years of relevant experience in hardware verification).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement verification plans and testbenches for video hardware components such as encoders and decoders.
  • Create tests and conduct simulations to validate hardware block performance.
  • Utilize hardware description languages (SystemVerilog, Formal) and verification methodologies (UVM) to create tailored test environments.
  • Collaborate with design teams and cross-functional groups to troubleshoot and ensure compliance with video standards.
  • Document verification processes, results, and coverage reports.
  • Employ AI tools to enhance verification practices.
  • Maintain current knowledge of verification strategies and video technologies.

Requirements

Applicants should possess a strong problem-solving orientation and attention to detail, with proficiency in SystemVerilog and UVM. Experience with FPGA prototyping or emulation in relation to video processing is highly beneficial. Knowledge of video codec algorithms (H.264, HEVC, VP9, JPEG) and multiple years of hands-on verification experience is essential.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is required, accompanied by 7-10 years of related experience.
