Staff Verification Design Engineer

Role Overview

The Staff Verification Design Engineer at Advanced Micro Devices is responsible for verifying advanced PCIe Controller Designs. This role involves working on cutting-edge technology integral to future AMD SOCs that power AI applications, gaming consoles, and various computing devices. Candidates will contribute to the verification of crucial architecture, performance balancing, and the development of complex RTL code and testbenches.

Experience Level

Mid-Career with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in design verification.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead functional verification from test planning to sign-off.
• Collaborate with design teams to understand and verify IP features.
• Create, implement, and review comprehensive test plans.
• Conduct verification through coverage-driven random and directed testing as well as formal verification.
• Oversee all elements of the verification process including planning, execution, and closure.
• Develop testbench components and libraries using Object-Oriented Programming techniques in the UVM environment.
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
• Provide technical leadership across projects and ensure verification sign-off.

Requirements

Applicants must have extensive knowledge of SystemVerilog and UVM, along with significant hands-on experience in verifying complex IPs or SoCs. Candidates should possess strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams. The role requires proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Ruby, Python, and Perl. A self-starting attitude and capability to manage time-sensitive tasks are crucial for success in this position.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Computer, or Electrical Engineering is required.
