Role Summary

The Staff Silicon Design Engineer will contribute to AMD's engineering team, focusing on enhancing the MI/Navi series of GPU products. This role requires an adaptive, self-motivated individual who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to engage in continuous technical innovation.

This position is suited for professionals with strong expertise and familiarity in semiconductor technology and design processes, particularly those experienced in physical design and various engineering tools.

Responsibilities

  • Perform logical and physical synthesis of design blocks.
  • Analyze and verify design performance and functionality.
  • Define synthesis design constraints and troubleshoot static timing analysis issues.
  • Evaluate timing quality and provide solutions for timing violations.
  • Complete design and data quality checks (CDC/RDC/LINT).
  • Collaborate with RTL engineers to resolve timing problems.
  • Drive new tool evaluations and refine methodologies.
  • Enhance automated ECO generation scripts for efficient timing closure.
  • Implement low power optimization strategies.
  • Automate daily tasks and analyze data using scripts.

Requirements

Candidates should be familiar with EDA tools such as Fusion Compiler, Prime Time, and Formality. Proficiency in programming languages like TCL, Shell, Perl, and Python is essential, along with knowledge of Unix/Linux environments. A strong analytical mindset and exceptional attention to detail are crucial for success in this role. Ability to work autonomously and complete tasks efficiently is expected.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required for this position.
