Job Title

Staff Analog Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Lead validation and silicon bring-up activities for MCU-class SoCs, focusing on functional, KPI and system-level verification across multiple IPs and modules. The role coordinates cross-functional teams (design, firmware, manufacturing, product engineering) to ensure validation readiness for tape-out, risk production and mass production.

Experience Level

Level: Senior — 5–10 years of experience in semiconductor validation, product engineering, or silicon debug.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing silicon validation programs, driving first-silicon debug, and standardizing validation methods across sites.

  • Lead first-silicon bring-up, debug, and root-cause issue resolution.
  • Define and oversee functional validation pre- and post-silicon for IPs and modules (security IP, NPU, interfaces, Ethernet, GPU, DCIF, RTC, etc.).
  • Validate KPI coverage including CoreMark, GPU performance, power consumption, and other performance metrics.
  • Perform system-level validation for key customer MCU use cases (for example access control, digital dashboard) and develop performance models for those use cases.
  • Develop robust test plans, coverage models, sign-off criteria, and validation readiness checkpoints for tape-out and production.
  • Set validation goals, KPIs, and execution frameworks; provide regular program updates to senior leadership.
  • Partner with Design & Architecture, Product Engineering, Firmware/Software, Manufacturing, Quality, and System Engineering teams.
  • Standardize and propagate validation methodologies across sites and teams.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, leadership skills, and hands-on experience required for the role.

  • Proven hands-on experience with MCU architectures and embedded systems.
  • Practical lab bring-up and silicon debug experience with tools such as JTAG, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
  • Proven ability to lead large, distributed engineering teams and coordinate cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills and executive presence for reporting to senior leadership.
  • Experience defining test plans, coverage models, KPI measurement, and validation sign-off processes.
  • Experience with system-level validation, performance modeling, and production readiness activities.
  • Nice-to-have: hands-on experience with security IP, NPU, GPU, Ethernet, DCIF, RTC, or related IPs and performance benchmarking tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
