Role Summary
AMD, Inc. is hiring a Sr. Systems Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing. This role involves defining processes for technical platforms and evaluating system specifications for hardware and software compatibility. An emphasis is placed on providing multi-layered technical expertise for next-generation initiatives.
Experience Level
This position requires a master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field. No prior experience is required.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include:
- Designing a complete and complex framework, system, or product.
- Performing silicon debug and validation with prototype boards.
- Driving system (CPU) build debug of problematic systems.
- Identifying, analyzing, and resolving system design weaknesses.
- Influencing the shaping of future products by contributing to architecture used across multiple systems.
- Working on various aspects of the process flow, including synthesis, place and route, and timing/power analysis.
Requirements
The following skills are required:
- Experience with design flows and methodologies for chip verification.
- Hardware verification skills.
- Knowledge of Verilog, System Verilog, or UVM.
- Proficiency in logic and circuit design.
- Understanding of CMOS transistor design.
- Experience in RTL Design and coding.
- Familiarity with Back-End and Front-End EDA tools.
- Programming skills in C, C++, Perl, or Python.
- Knowledge of ASIC design tools.
Education Requirements
Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronics Engineering or related field.
