Sr. Staff ASIC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

The Security IP group at Synopsys is focused on hardware verification of complex security systems IP components. We are looking for an experienced hardware verification engineer to join our team in Ottawa, Canada, dedicated to delivering high-quality security solutions for advanced devices in automotive, networking, mobile, and IoT applications.

Experience Level

Mid-Career (8+ years of experience in relevant fields)

Responsibilities

• Performing design verification of cutting-edge IP components and subsystems in high-profile security applications.
• Developing comprehensive product verification strategies, including test specifications and detailed test plans.
• Implementing, developing, and automating test environments for robust regression testing.
• Collaborating with design engineers to debug products and resolve defects.
• Staying current with verification methodologies and integrating best practices into workflows.
• Executing hardware verification using SystemVerilog / UVM and formal verification techniques.
• Researching and integrating advancements in the embedded security domain.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in verification of digital hardware IP components.
• Deep knowledge of modern verification methodologies, including UVM, assertion-based verification, and formal verification.
• Good understanding of IC Design flows and strong problem-solving skills.
• Experience in verification flow automation and scripting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science.
• Desirable: Familiarity with security and cryptographic protocols.
