Job Title
Software Engineering Director
Role Summary
Lead and manage engineering teams responsible for development and verification of Verification IP (VIP) and RTL for high-speed interfaces and coherency protocols. The role focuses on technical leadership, product quality, and coordination with field teams and customers to deploy and resolve complex issues.
Team scope includes development for protocols such as PCIe Gen5/Gen6, USB3.2, 400Gb Ethernet, DDR5/LPDDR5 and coherency protocols like CXL, with integration into Questa RTL simulation flows.
Experience Level
Senior — requires extensive industry experience; the posting specifies 15+ years of relevant experience in RTL design, IP/VIP development/verification, or emulation with industry leadership.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include engineering leadership, technical oversight, and customer-facing support.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams developing VIP, RTL, and verification solutions for high-speed interfaces and coherency protocols.
- Define technical direction, verification strategies, and test plans for IP development.
- Oversee design and implementation of SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, assertions, coverage, BFMs, and debug infrastructure.
- Coordinate with field engineers and customers to deploy solutions and resolve escalated technical issues.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product, QA, and support teams to ensure product quality and delivery.
- Drive performance and system-level considerations such as latency, bandwidth, and integration with CPU/GPU/Network/Memory subsystems.
Requirements
Key technical skills and professional experience required or preferred.
-
Must-have: Extensive experience in RTL design and IP/VIP development or verification; proven leadership in engineering organizations.
-
Must-have: Strong working knowledge of SystemVerilog and UVM, including assertions, coverage, test planning, BFMs, debug, logging and trackers.
-
Must-have: Practical knowledge of standard bus and interface protocols such as PCIe (including Gen5/Gen6), USB, Ethernet, and memory interfaces.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with emulation, C/SystemC-based tests, coherent/non-coherent NoC designs, and familiarity with components like CPU, GPU, display and network devices.
-
Nice-to-have: Background in system-level performance analysis (latency, bandwidth) and experience with coherency protocols like CXL.
- Customer-facing experience, including working with field application engineers and resolving deployed customer issues.
Education Requirements
B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics or a related field from a reputed institute (as stated in the posting).
