SMTS Product Development Engineer

Role Summary

The role involves working as part of a Product Engineering team at AMD, focusing on FPGA & ACAP implementation flows including placer, router, logic optimization, design closure ease-of-use, tools specification, validation, documentation, and customer support.

Experience Level

Level - Mid-Career

Responsibilities

• Work with R&D teams to enhance FPGA compilation software quality.
• Drive netlist partitioning, floorplanning, placement optimization, and congestion modeling.
• Address key customer escalations from analysis to closure.
• Identify workarounds for critical tool issues encountered by users.
• Explore methodologies impacting flow and design practices.
• Collaborate with business units to improve designs and customer experience.
• Develop and deliver training materials on features and methodologies.
• Utilize knowledge of computer hardware/software and engineering principles in product development.

Requirements

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Physics, or related field, along with five years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.

Alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree with seven years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience is acceptable.

Education Requirements

• Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or similar field.
• Bachelor’s degree with additional experience may be accepted.
