Role Summary

This position involves validating building blocks in FPGA on a board level to ensure functionality and performance according to design intent. You will participate in cutting-edge projects with opportunities to learn and grow within the Silicon Engineering team at Lattice Semiconductor.

Experience Level

5+ years of experience in Electrical Engineering or related fields focused on Silicon Design Validation engineering.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Validating and characterizing various IPs from silicon arrival to production release.
  • Developing validation and characterization plans for certain IP, bench hardware, and software.
  • Creating test logic RTL to achieve validation and characterization tests.
  • Driving new silicon product bring-up and debugging to assess IP functionality and performance.
  • Serving as a central resource with design, verification, manufacturing, and marketing teams throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Providing support for customer issues post-product release.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Electrical Engineering degree with a strong drive towards a career in Silicon Design Validation.
  • Expertise in High Speed Serdes Interface characterization and compliance testing protocols such as PCIe and Ethernet.
  • Strong background in high speed board design and signal integrity evaluation.
  • Proficiency in Verilog/VHDL and FPGA development tools.
  • Experience in test automation development using programming languages like Python or Perl.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and analysis tools such as JMP or R.
  • Experience with bench equipment for device characterization including BERT and Oscilloscopes.
  • Strong communication skills for collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Self-motivated with strong problem-solving abilities.

Education Requirements

Electrical Engineering degree or related discipline, with a focus on Silicon Design Validation engineering.
