Silicon Physical Design Engineer

Role Summary

The Silicon Physical Design Engineer will focus on implementing physical design for multi-hierarchy low-power machine learning hardware. This role involves working closely with both front-end and back-end hardware designers to optimize the physical design implementation to meet performance, power, and area goals.

Experience Level

This position requires a deep understanding of ASIC physical design, with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in the field.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage physical design implementation, including logic synthesis, floorplan, place and route, static timing analysis, and verification in advanced nodes.
• Address design issues and propose effective solutions while driving execution.
• Collaborate with ML architects and designers to devise custom methodologies for optimizing ML compute datapath design blocks.
• Engage in cross-disciplinary teamwork to brainstorm ideas, prototype concepts, and transition to high-volume production.
• Travel domestically and internationally as needed.

Requirements

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field, along with significant practical experience. Candidates should understand the RTL2GDSII flow for processes at 3nm or below, possess proficiency with EDA tools, and show competence in programming languages such as Python, TCL, and Perl.
