Role Overview

Microsoft’s Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) team is responsible for empowering Microsoft’s Cloud Infrastructure and delivering foundational technologies for various online services. We are seeking an experienced Signal Integrity and Power Integrity Engineer to develop advanced power delivery and signalling solutions for high-performance computing silicon designs.

Position Summary

In this role, the engineer will be part of a specialized team focusing on silicon delivery and performance optimizations. The successful candidate will drive innovative design solutions that interface directly with silicon, packaging, and system design teams to enhance the overall functionality and performance of SOCs.

Experience Level

This position requires candidates with a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field along with at least 1 year of technical engineering experience, or a bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience. Preferred candidates will have more extensive experience in related fields.

Job Responsibilities

  • Implement strategies for end-to-end power delivery and signal integrity design from Silicon to Package.
  • Deliver SIPI solutions to meet high-performance computing demands across entire systems.
  • Design, model, and simulate signal integrity and power integrity for data center processors and platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture solutions based on performance needs.
  • Conduct DC, AC, and transient simulations to optimize performance and validate designs.

Qualifications

Required: Master’s in a relevant field plus 1+ year experience or Bachelor’s with 2+ years of experience. Preferred: MS degree with 3+ years in silicon design or BSEE with 5+ years in the same area, with a strong foundation in signal and power integrity.
