Role Overview

The Senior VLSI Process Design Engineer will engage in optimizing Intel's process technology to achieve best-in-class power, performance, and area (PPA) for Intel intellectual properties. This role involves conducting experiments to identify challenges and optimization opportunities, evaluating devices and blocks, and translating findings into actionable recommendations that influence product direction.

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Conducting experiments to identify and optimize potential challenges within Intel's process technology.
  • Driving continuous improvements to designs and methodologies across advanced technology nodes.
  • Defining methodologies and building tools to enhance PPA of Intel IPs.
  • Analyzing PPA results and communicating insights and recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with Core and SoC design teams to capture and optimize process requirements.
  • Mentoring and guiding technical teams while fostering growth and best practices.

Experience Level

This is an experienced hire position requiring a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in VLSI physical design.

Requirements

The qualifications necessary for the potential candidate include:

  • BSc or MSc in Electrical or Computer Engineering.
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced technology nodes in VLSI design.
  • Knowledge of basic scripting languages like Python and TCL.
  • Familiarity with physical design implementation flows and techniques including floorplanning, placement, and timing closure.
  • Deep understanding of PPA trade-offs and mentoring experience with technical teams.

Applicants must possess at least a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
