Role Summary

This temporary position as a Senior Validation and Verification Engineer involves ensuring the functionality and performance of Synopsys’ optical simulation applications. The role requires collaboration across various engineering disciplines and focuses on developing thorough testing protocols to enhance product quality.

Experience Level

The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of relevant experience, holding a Master’s degree in Optics, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science or a related field. Proven experience with programming and scripting languages is essential for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop comprehensive test cases for Synopsys Optics applications such as Lumerical, Speos, and Zemax.
  • Create and maintain automated testing scripts ensuring full functional, regression, and performance coverage.
  • Develop and execute detailed testing plans and manage defect tracking and reporting.
  • Work closely with R&D teams to reproduce defects and verify software fixes.
  • Enhance internal testing tools and contribute to quality assurance processes.
  • Engage with various computing environments, including Windows, Linux, and cloud platforms like AWS and Azure.
  • Communicate technical issues effectively with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in a relevant technical field with minimum 2 years of experience.
  • Proficient in programming/scripting languages including Python, C++, and MATLAB.
  • Experienced in software quality assurance, particularly in test case development and defect management.
  • Familiar with automated testing frameworks and continuous integration systems.
  • Experience in using version control and defect tracking tools.
  • Proficient in handling diverse computing environments including cloud infrastructure.
  • Exposure to engineering simulation tools, particularly Ansys Lumerical, is advantageous.
