Senior SW Test Developer - Wireless Protocols/Applications

Role Summary

Join the BU Short-Range Software Group in Kraków to design and implement automated tests, improve test tools and frameworks, execute protocol and application testing, and maintain hardware test setups. The role supports a fully automated build-and-test pipeline for firmware stacks and connected applications.

This position works closely with firmware and test engineering teams to define test strategies, automate verification, and ensure reliable wireless protocol behavior (primarily BLE and NFC).

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include designing, implementing, and maintaining automated tests and related infrastructure.

  • Design and implement automated tests in Python using OOP principles.
  • Execute protocol and application tests on firmware stacks.
  • Develop and improve test tools and test frameworks.
  • Design, build, and maintain hardware test setups.
  • Contribute to defining test strategies and quality goals.
  • Maintain a fully automated build-and-test system (CI/CD integration).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and personal attributes required to perform the role.

  • Strong Python programming skills and solid OOP knowledge.
  • Experience with test infrastructure development and automation in Continuous Integration systems.
  • Familiarity with wireless protocols, specifically Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) and NFC.
  • Some experience with embedded C.
  • Ability to design and maintain hardware test setups and work with firmware teams.
  • Soft skills: proactive, collaborative team player, curious and willing to learn and iterate.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree (B.Sc./M.Sc.) in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a similar engineering program.
