Senior SOC/ASIC Physical Design Engineer

Role Summary

The Senior SOC/ASIC Physical Design Engineer at SpaceX will leverage the company's advanced engineering capabilities to develop cutting-edge silicon for space and ground infrastructures. This role involves working with cross-disciplinary teams to maximize the utility of the Starlink network. The ideal candidate should be proactive, intellectually curious, and motivated to solve complex design challenges.

Experience Level

This position requires a minimum of 5 years of relevant industry experience, particularly in ASIC and physical design flow development.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this role include:

• Performing partition synthesis and steps in physical implementation including synthesis, floorplanning, place and route, and signoff checks.
• Developing and improving physical design methodologies and automation scripts.
• Collaborating closely with the ASIC design team to optimize architectural feasibility and timing, power, and area design targets.
• Resolving design and flow issues and providing solutions for execution.
• Running and debugging static timing analysis and physical verification processes.

Requirements

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science.
• 5+ years of ASIC and/or physical design experience in the industry.
