Role Overview

The Senior Lead Verification Engineer will be responsible for leading hardware and firmware co-verification in the Security IP Team (SECIP). This role emphasizes verification of embedded micro-processor subsystems and hardware accelerators within advanced SoCs. Candidates should have expertise in firmware development and a robust understanding of hardware and software collaboration.

Experience Level

Mid-Career candidate with at least 12 years of relevant experience in ASIC hardware and firmware design and verification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and verification of embedded firmware for SOC secure boot and microprocessor-driven hardware acceleration services.
  • Conduct hardware and firmware co-verification using UVM System Verilog and C-DPI in structured testbenches.
  • Utilize FPGA platforms for hardware/firmware co-verification.
  • Design and maintain subsystem verification architecture and test methodology for embedded CPUs and hardware accelerators.
  • Engage in subsystem specification and influence micro-architecture development, providing critical performance models and trade-off analyses.
  • Develop subsystem testing plans, methodologies, and verify UVM test cases.
  • Interface with SoC integration teams to facilitate IP-level verification and support silicon debugging efforts.

Requirements

The ideal candidate must be proficient in C, C++, Assembly, Verilog, System Verilog, and various scripting languages. They should possess comprehensive knowledge of UVM and C-DPI methodologies, as well as standard interfaces like AXI and AHB. Expertise in firmware design and familiarity with ASIC verification tools are necessary.

Education Requirements

A degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Candidates should hold a B.Eng, Master’s, or PhD degree.
