Role Summary
The Camera Semiconductor Technologies team at Apple is responsible for research and development of semiconductor solutions across various platforms. The Semiconductor Test Architect role focuses on developing test strategies and solutions to meet Apple's high performance, reliability, safety, and cost standards.
Experience Level
Senior - 10+ years of experience preferred.
Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include:
- Define, document, and implement custom test systems with attention to detail.
- Collaborate with design, verification, and operation teams throughout product cycles.
- Provide quality assessments and regular updates for decision making.
- Lead proof-of-concepts and evaluate emerging tools and technologies in test engineering.
- Contribute to core IP development.
Requirements
Minimum qualifications are:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent job-related experience in engineering.
- Knowledge in lasers, LEDs, optics, photodiodes, or camera sensors.
- Experience with optical metrology equipment (e.g., power meters, spectrum analyzers).
Preferred qualifications include:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Materials, Physics, Mechanical, Computer or Electrical Engineering.
- 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Experience with wafer industries or high volume production facilities.
- Familiarity with test hardware like wafer-level handlers and automated test equipment.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively.
- Critical thinking and troubleshooting skills.
- Self-motivated with an innovative mindset.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience required; M.S. or Ph.D. preferred.
