Role Summary

The RTL Design Engineer will work with the Security IP (SECIP) team to design and verify embedded microprocessor subsystems and hardware accelerators. This role involves supporting various functionalities to enhance performance in AMD's System-on-Chip (SoC) products across multiple business sectors.

Experience Level

Looking for an experienced hardware design engineer proficient in RTL design and verification, with a strong background in developing and delivering complex system designs.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain RTL IP and MP subsystems’ specifications and design methodologies.
  • Debug RTL designs, using both directed test methodologies and verification team's test plans.
  • Triage regressions and resolve technical issues in collaboration with design, verification, and integration teams.
  • Participate in the specification and development of verification testbenches and improve coverage plans.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentor others on best practices and methodologies in IP functionality.

Requirements

  • In-depth knowledge of CPU and MP subsystem architecture, along with FPGA simulation methodologies.
  • Skilled in Verilog and System Verilog, as well as scripting languages such as Tcl, Python, and Perl.
  • Familiarity with standard bus/interface protocols like AXI and AHB.
  • Experience using ASIC design tools for synthesis, simulation, and debugging tasks.

Education Requirements

Candidate must hold a Bachelor's or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
