Job Overview

The RTL Design Engineer at Intel Corporation is tasked with developing logic design and writing register transfer level (RTL) coding for cutting-edge CPU technologies. Candidates will work with high-performance CPU core designs and contribute to a team focused on architectural and microarchitectural features.

Position Summary

The role encompasses designing, coding, and simulating CPU components essential for high-grade computing, with an emphasis on achieving optimal power efficiency, performance, and design integrity. The engineer will actively engage in the review of verification plans and ensure the correctness of CPU features.

Experience Level

This position is suited for candidates with at least 1+ years of experience in relevant fields, or candidates holding a Master’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop logic design and RTL coding for CPU-related components.
  • Participate in defining architecture and microarchitecture features.
  • Optimize designs to meet power, performance, area, and timing goals.
  • Document micro architectural specifications of CPU features.
  • Support SoC customers in integrating the CPU block.

Minimum Qualifications

Candidates must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or a related STEM field with at least 1 year of relevant experience. Coursework or experience should include:

  • Basic Logic Design
  • Computer Architecture
  • Digital design and RTL coding using Verilog/SystemVerilog and/or VHDL
  • Familiarity with synthesis tools and scripting languages (Python, Perl, TCL)

Education Requirements

Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering or related STEM discipline is required.
