Role Summary

The Product Engineer Prod Dev Intern is responsible for a specific healthcare product or group of products from concept and definition through production and release. The intern will conduct laboratory evaluations and act as the main interface between design, applications, wafer foundry, assembly, test, quality, and marketing groups.

Internship position; suitable for students or recent graduates.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Planning, designing, and developing electronic components and systems.
  • Evaluating the reliability of materials and production techniques.
  • Designing and implementing testing methods to troubleshoot and evaluate products.
  • Participating in design simulation and verification prior to product release.
  • Preparing testing specifications, programs, and fixtures for new products.
  • Documenting all test results for product release requirements.
  • Developing test capability including hardware and software designs.
  • Supporting design validation of early silicon and debugging product issues.
  • Analyzing production and reliability test data.
  • Interacting with sales/applications teams and customers to resolve product concerns.

Requirements

The following qualifications are required:

  • Experience or knowledge in analog to digital converters, analog circuits, semiconductor IC processes.
  • Familiarity with bench test equipment such as spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes.
  • Understanding of high-level software languages including C, National Instruments LabVIEW, and Matlab.
  • Must be self-motivated with a strong desire to learn and have excellent communication skills.
  • A strong understanding of statistical analysis.

Education Requirements

BS or MS degree in Electrical Engineering (EE), Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), or equivalent relevant experience.
