Role Summary

The Product Development Engineer will research, design, develop, and test operating systems-level software, compilers, and network distribution software. The role involves troubleshooting and debugging software programs for enhancements and new products while utilizing knowledge of computer science and engineering principles.

Experience Level

Entry-level position. Experience may be gained through graduate-level coursework, research, or internship experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Design and develop operating systems-level software and compilers.
• Troubleshoot and debug software for product enhancements.
• Develop software tools for various AMD systems and products.
• Ensure hardware compatibility and potentially influence hardware design.
• Work on complex systems-level software problems under supervision.
• Utilize knowledge in engineering science and technology for the design and development of products.

Requirements

Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Education Requirements

No prior experience required.

Specific skills required include:

• Experience in hardware or software verification.
• Knowledge of logic and circuit design, CMOS transistor design, and CAD/EDA tools.
• Proficiency in Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL.
• Familiarity with C, C++, or Python.
• Understanding of Linux or Windows internals.
• Experience with ATE testing for IC products.
