Job Title
Product Architect, Custom IC & Analog Design Automation
Role Summary
The Product Architect defines and develops AI-driven design automation solutions for custom IC and analog/mixed-signal design flows. The role concentrates on Siemens native platforms (including L-Edit) and OpenAccess-based third-party environments, and contributes to product architecture, platform integration, and technical leadership.
The position focuses on layout automation, design migration, and the application of AI/ML techniques to create intelligent, production-ready workflows aligned with foundry and process requirements.
Experience Level
Senior — requires demonstrated delivery of complex EDA or design-automation products and team/technical leadership experience. Specific years of experience are not stated.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include product architecture, integration, and delivery of automation and AI-enabled workflows for custom IC and analog design:
- Define layout automation capabilities and technical requirements for custom IC and analog/mixed-signal designs.
- Apply AI/ML methods to enable breakthroughs in design migration and layout optimization.
- Align automation solutions with modern process technologies and foundry requirements.
- Design and implement integrations within Siemens tools (including L-Edit) and OpenAccess-based frameworks.
- Develop and maintain SKILL-based and other scripting automation for migration and layout workflows.
- Establish integration patterns, APIs, and technical best practices for tooling and workflows.
- Evaluate emerging AI-based methods and translate them into product capabilities; track industry developments.
- Lead cross-functional teams to deliver production-quality EDA products and workflows.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills, domain experience, and compliance considerations:
-
Must-have: Experience designing or implementing AI-driven workflows for EDA, layout, or design migration.
-
Must-have: Hands-on experience with SKILL-based integrations and scripting for design automation.
-
Must-have: Proven track record delivering complex EDA software or design-automation products.
-
Must-have: Experience with Siemens custom IC design tools (including L-Edit) and/or OpenAccess-based environments.
-
Must-have: Background in layout automation, design migration, or analog design workflows.
-
Must-have: Team and technical leadership experience, able to lead cross-functional delivery efforts.
-
Must-have: Ability to satisfy U.S. export control requirements (U.S. Person status or ability to obtain necessary export license) — employment is contingent on export compliance.
-
Nice-to-have: Familiarity with foundry process requirements, additional scripting languages, and emerging AI/ML research applied to physical design.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
