Role Summary

The Physical Design Methodology Engineer will develop and enhance design methodologies for implementing GPUs, CPUs, and SoCs with a focus on optimizing power, performance, and area (PPA). This role involves working on advanced technology nodes to improve design processes and ensure top-tier solutions across product lines.

Experience Level

Mid-level; Minimum 5 years of experience in Physical Design Engineering required.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include:

  • Create and enhance cutting-edge physical design methodologies.
  • Develop workflows for place and route techniques, including floorplanning and chip assembly.
  • Collaborate with partners to enhance tools and methodologies.
  • Improve RTL-to-GDS flow for PPA optimization and design issue resolution.

Requirements

Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Physical Design Engineering.
  • Proven success in enhancing PPA for high-performance designs.
  • Strong understanding of physical design optimization methodologies.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard EDA tools.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting languages such as TCL, Perl, Python, and C++.
  • Understanding of power intent files and their use in power optimization.
  • Experience with power distribution networks and thermal management.

Education Requirements

MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
