Physical Design Lead

Role Summary

As a Physical Design Lead at Advanced Micro Devices, you will be responsible for overseeing the verification process for AMD's graphics processor IP. Your main goal will be to ensure that all new and existing features are rigorously tested, resulting in elegant, bug-free designs.

Responsibilities

• Work with architects and engineers to clarify new features that need verification.
• Create comprehensive test plans that factor in hardware, firmware, and software interactions.
• Estimate resources required for writing test cases and modifying the test environment.
• Develop directed and random verification tests.
• Analyze test failures to identify root causes and collaborate with RTL and firmware engineers to rectify design issues.
• Assess functional and code coverage metrics, adjusting tests as necessary to meet requirements.

Requirements

Ideal candidates will have experience with IP-level ASIC verification and proficiency in debugging firmware and RTL code using various simulation tools. Additional skills include using UVM testbenches, working in both Linux and Windows environments, and familiarity with Verilog, System Verilog, C, and C++. Knowledge of graphics pipelines and experience in developing UVM-based frameworks are also important. A solid grasp of SystemC and TLM, along with scripting experience (e.g., Perl, Ruby, Makefile, shell), is essential.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required.
