Role Summary

As a Physical Design Engineer Intern at Marvell Technology, you will engage in real-world projects that include the design and implementation of semiconductor solutions. You will join the Central Cad And Design Services (CCDS) Physical Design team, working on cutting-edge projects spanning areas such as AI, machine learning, and infrastructure.

Experience Level

This internship is intended for candidates pursuing a Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields. No prior experience in physical design is required, making this position ideal for students looking to gain hands-on skills in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities

Interns will:

  • Participate in the Semiconductor Physical Design process, collaborating with Place+Route and Timing Analysis teams.
  • Utilize tools like Cadence, Synopsys, and Siemens to assist in EDA tasks.
  • Write scripts using Python, TCL, Perl, and UNIX Shell to enhance design workflows.
  • Engage in training sessions to understand the Physical Design Flow and complete assigned projects.
  • Work closely with mentors and collaborate with other interns across various activities.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria:

  • Currently pursuing a BS/MS degree in EE, CS, or a comparable technical discipline.
  • Familiarity with Unix-type environments and scripting languages (Python, TCL).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.

Education Requirements

Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is necessary for this position.
