Role Summary

The Physical Design Engineer will work with a global team on the physical design of complex chips and methodologies to enable efficient design processes. The role focuses on high-performance processor chips targeted at server, 5G/6G, and networking applications.

Experience Level

Entry-level, requiring 1-3 years of related professional experience, or a Master's degree and/or PhD in relevant fields.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting physical design and methodology tasks for next-generation chips.
  • Triage workflows with RTL code synthesis and place and route (PnR) tools.
  • Analyzing performance via timing analysis and verifying power grids through EMIR analysis.
  • Reviewing completed runs for errors and optimizing successful runs.

Requirements

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related fields.
  • 1-3 years of related professional experience or higher degree in the same fields.
  • Experience in designing and testing logic blocks.
  • Familiarity with timing analysis formulas and synthesis concepts.
  • A proactive approach to learning and problem-solving.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field is required.
