Role Summary

The Lead FPGA Prototyping and Emulation Engineer will drive innovation and technical improvements in AMD’s product development. This role entails working closely within a team to deliver scalable and efficient solutions for system design and verification.

Experience Level

This position requires around 8 years of relevant experience in FPGA prototyping and emulation methodologies, as well as hands-on experience with tool and script development.

Responsibilities

  • Enhance AMD's validation capabilities through tool and methodology development.
  • Oversee prototyping and emulation flows, ensuring product quality.
  • Model unsynthesizable blocks to optimize cost and platform capacity.
  • Debug issues during development and production phases of SoC programs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to track and validate features effectively.
  • Engage with various software/hardware modeling frameworks.
  • Lead collaborative efforts with multiple teams for project success.

Requirements

Candidates should have a strong background in programming/scripting (C/C++, Perl, Ruby, Python) and extensive experience with vendor flows from Synopsys, Cadence, and Siemens. Candidates must also demonstrate strong skills in protocol knowledge (high-speed protocols including PCIe Gen 5, UFS 3.1, USB 3.1), board-level debugging, and system architecture. Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail are crucial. A Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical or electronics engineering is required.
