Intern Implementation Engineer - CPU

Role Summary

The Implementation team in Arm's CPU group enhances power, performance, and area using innovative physical design techniques. Interns will collaborate with engineers to work on real projects that contribute to CPU design, gaining hands-on experience in the field.

Experience Level

Internship; candidates should be currently enrolled in a relevant degree program.

Responsibilities

As an Implementation Intern, you will:

  • Assist with physical design and implementation of CPU cores.
  • Investigate Power, Performance, Area, Time (PPAT) and Yield (PPATY) tradeoffs in implementation.
  • Develop and deploy new methodologies for implementation efficiency.
  • Collaborate with RTL design teams for implementation analysis and optimization.

Requirements

Essential skills and qualifications include:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering (Bachelor's or Master's).
  • Knowledge of Unix, Perl, Tcl, and VHDL/Verilog.
  • Experience with EDA tools such as Cadence, Synopsys, and Mentor Graphics.
  • Strong communication skills and an analytical approach.
  • Motivation for continuous skill development and diverse responsibilities.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled in an Electrical or Computer Engineering degree program; candidates with relevant experience in alternative fields will also be considered.
