Role Summary

Internship opportunity for MSc students in Electronic Engineering to work on a graduation thesis at Renesas' design center in Catania, Italy. Focus areas include research and development in analog and mixed-signal circuit design, particularly Power Management ICs and Smart Power Stages for High-Performance Computing.

Experience Level

Entry-level position designed for students pursuing their master’s degree.

Responsibilities

  • Perform transistor-level design of analog and mixed-signal circuit blocks.
  • Evaluate performance tradeoffs among different circuit architectures.
  • Document simulation results and participate in technical reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Understanding of CMOS and bipolar transistors, and circuit components such as diodes, resistors, capacitors, inductors.
  • Familiarity with BCD technology.
  • Capability to design circuit blocks and perform process/voltage/temperature (PVT) evaluations and Monte Carlo simulations.
  • Knowledge of essential components such as voltage/current references, amplifiers, comparators, and digital gates.
  • Foundational knowledge of feedback control systems and switch-mode power conversion topologies.
  • Experience with the Cadence design environment is preferable.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and spoken.

Education Requirements

Must be currently pursuing a master's degree in Electronic Engineering or a closely related field.
