Role Summary

This position involves leading hardware engineering efforts on the PCIe and Signal Integrity team within AWS. As a Hardware Development Engineer, you will be responsible for designing advanced server hardware components, specifically focusing on high-speed PCB designs. The role includes working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the delivery of cost-effective, high-performance server systems.

Experience Level

This role requires a professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in hardware development, specifically in designing complex electrical products and troubleshooting hardware issues in large scale systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop next-generation server hardware components and systems.
  • Create and validate high-speed PCB designs for server components, focusing on PCIe topology.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve design issues.
  • Build test environments and design test hardware for validation and verification of designs.
  • Participate in the complete product lifecycle from requirements gathering to launch and support.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should possess a BS degree in electrical or computer engineering (or equivalent) and have significant experience in hardware development and high-speed interface hardware. Proficiency in designing test procedures and conducting functional testing is essential.
