Role Overview

This internship opportunity is for a Hardware Design Verification Engineer at Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) located in Hsinchu, Taiwan. As an intern, you will be part of a dynamic team focused on the testing and verification of high-end Machine Intelligence products. The role involves full-time, onsite work throughout the summer months.

Position Summary

As a Hardware Design Verification Engineer intern, you will collaborate closely with senior engineers to create and execute verification plans, perform simulations, and enhance testing processes. This position offers the chance to gain practical experience in a cutting-edge technology environment.

Experience Level

This position is suitable for students enrolled in a BS or MS program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering at a university in Taiwan. The role is aimed at undergraduate or graduate students seeking hands-on experience.

Key Responsibilities

Interns will engage in a variety of assignments, including:

  • Developing performance verification test plans and simulation test cases with senior engineers.
  • Writing scripts using Perl/Python to manage compute resources.
  • Testing regression flows and providing support for project development.
  • Reviewing tools and options to optimize simulation performance.
  • Debugging and enhancing test cases and Verilog/System Verilog coding.
  • Conducting system-level tests and validation tasks.
  • Utilizing software to test hardware/software features and troubleshoot issues.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Experience in programming languages such as C++, Python, Perl, or Shell scripting.
  • Knowledge of Verilog and System Verilog.
  • Understanding of digital systems and computer organization.
  • Familiarity with PC assembly, OS installation, and basic network configuration.
  • Exposure to hardware and software design and debugging in different environments.
  • Experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes and multimeters.

Education Requirements

Applicants must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field at a Taiwan-based university.
