Role Summary
We are seeking a Hardware Design Engineering Intern to join our team, focusing on the design and delivery of high-end Machine Intelligence products at AMD. This position offers practical experience and exposure to cutting-edge technology in a collaborative environment.

This role is suitable for undergraduate or graduate students currently enrolled in a university program related to electrical or computer engineering, particularly those looking to apply their academic knowledge in a real-world setting.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with Design Engineers on ASIC physical design verification and implementation.
- Engaging in memory interface simulation for products like GDDR7 and HBM.
- Participating in RTL design using Verilog.
- Conducting synthesis with a focus on timing-driven placement and design for power.
- Assisting in floor planning, power distribution, and timing analysis tasks.
- Building test libraries and models utilizing verification languages such as System Verilog and UVM.
Requirements
To qualify for this position, candidates must:
- Be currently enrolled in a university in Canada, majoring in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Possess knowledge of semiconductor device physics, digital and logic circuits, and VLSI.
- Have experience with Verilog or VHDL, and exposure to UVM methodologies.
- Be familiar with scripting languages such as Python or C++, and have an interest in machine learning and ASIC design.
- Demonstrate understanding of Linux/Unix environments and the physical design process.
Education Requirements
Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field at a university based in Canada.
