Role Overview

This position involves working as a GPU Silicon Validation Engineer within Apple's Silicon Technologies group in Austin, Texas. The role focuses on validating the functional operation, electrical behavior, power, and performance of Apple’s embedded GPUs. You will be deeply involved in silicon validation tasks, ensuring that Apple products maintain high performance and power efficiency.

Position Summary

Your primary responsibility will be executing validation plans for GPU silicon and enhancing validation methodologies. The GPU Silicon Validation Team collaborates with various stakeholders to ensure the quality and efficacy of embedded GPUs, playing a key role in shaping the technology used in Apple devices.

Experience Level

Prior experience in silicon validation is required, along with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience. The position is ideal for candidates who are keen on working with advanced technology and enjoy problem-solving in a collaborative environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Execute and communicate GPU silicon validation plans, leading debug efforts.
  • Identify and implement improvements in validation methodologies and tools.
  • Collaborate effectively with stakeholders on manufacturing test suites and debugging processes.
  • Oversee fail triage and debug complex embedded GPU issues.
  • Support all aspects of GPU silicon validation as necessary.
  • Develop and enhance automation tools for validation and debugging.
  • Configure system hardware and software for validation tasks.

Basic Qualifications

The minimum educational requirement is a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, along with at least 3 years of direct experience in silicon validation. Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python or TCL/Expect is essential. Familiarity with system and SoC architectures, as well as CPU or GPU architectures, is also necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

Candidates with experience in device physics and transistor behavior will be prioritized. Additionally, an understanding of debugging hardware and software in embedded systems, along with the capability for electrical measurements and manufacturing test methodologies, is preferred. Strong team collaboration and communication skills are essential for meeting product timelines.
