Role Summary

GlobalFoundries seeks a motivated Engineer Tapeout Engineering to join the Global Tapeout and Mask Operations (GTMO) organization in Bengaluru. The successful candidate will focus on achieving high-quality tapeout services in semiconductor wafer manufacturing through collaboration with various internal teams.

Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Engineer Tapeout Engineering include:

• Engaging in daily tapeout operations like Design Rule Checking (DRC) and Mask Data Preparation.
• Collaborating with Global Tapeout Operations teams to improve efficiencies and reduce costs.
• Solving complex technical problems across multiple projects.
• Ensuring all processes meet industry standards and project timelines.
• Assisting with the collection of tapeout metrics and KPIs.
• Automating tapeout process flows through scripting.
• Debugging issues with EDA tool runs.
• Learning and applying new technologies for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Required qualifications include:

• Bachelor's degree (BE/B.Tech) in Electrical, VLSI, Microelectronics, or a related field.
• New college graduates are welcomed.
• Fluency in English (verbal and written).
• Physical ability to work full-time throughout the year.

Preferred qualifications include:

• Proficiency with LINUX commands and directory structures.
• Familiarity with LSF.
• Knowledge of Python, Shell, TCL, and MySQL is advantageous.
• Experience with Electronic Design Automation (EDA) tools such as Mentor Graphics or Synopsys is a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (BE/B.Tech) with specialization in Electrical, VLSI, Microelectronics, or a related field.
