Digital IC Design Intern (AMS COMPHY)

Role Summary

The Digital IC Design Intern will be involved in the design, verification, and evaluation of digital circuits within high-speed data communication ICs. This internship is designed to provide hands-on experience in a leading chip design environment with a focus on learning technical competencies as well as integrating into the company's culture.

Experience Level

Internship, suitable for 3rd or 4th year Bachelor’s degree students and early-stage Master’s or PhD students.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

• Improving design methodology and flow.
• Conducting design verification for various types of SerDes IPs ranging from 10Gbps to 224Gbps data-rates.
• Collaborating with different engineering teams to deliver competitive SerDes IP solutions.
• Providing support to product teams during pre and post silicon phases.

Requirements

Must-have skills and qualifications include:

• Strong fundamental knowledge in digital logic design and ASIC verification flows.
• Proficiency in Verilog and SystemVerilog/SystemC/Vera.
• Experience with Perl and Tcl scripting, UNIX Shell scripting (Csh, Bash).
• Familiarity with MATLAB and C/C++ for system simulation is a plus.
• DSP function hardware implementation knowledge is advantageous.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
• Motivation and commitment to be part of a high-performing design team.

Education Requirements

Expected to have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields; Master’s and PhD students are also welcome.
