Designer I, PCB Layout Engineering

Role Summary

The Designer I, PCB Layout Engineering is responsible for the layout and design of PCBs used for Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), customer evaluation, and engineering boards. The role includes practicing PCB DFM, DFA, best design practices, and applying board level simulation within the Global Hardware Development Group.

Entry-level, suitable for recent graduates.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include:

  • Design and layout of printed circuit boards (PCBs).
  • Practice PCB design for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
  • Apply board level simulation techniques.
  • Collaborate with team members in the Global Hardware Development Group.

Requirements

The following qualifications are required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE), Computer Engineering (COE), or Electrical Engineering (EE).
  • Knowledge in PCB design/layout, schematic creation, or simulation.
  • Understanding of basic electronics, circuit analysis, transmission line principles, and signal integrity.
  • Familiarity with Cadence CAD tools (Concept and Allegro) is preferred.
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written.
  • A mature, team-player attitude and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Highly motivated, confident, and energetic personality.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is required.
