Job Summary

The Design Verification Engineer will focus on IP (Intellectual Property) Release and Verification processes. This role serves as a crucial connection between the core IP development teams and System-on-Chip (SoC) product integration teams, ensuring that IP milestone drops are of high quality and adhere to project timelines.

Experience Level

We are seeking candidates with experience in the relevant fields, particularly in roles that require a blend of digital design, verification methodologies, and an understanding of complex processor architectures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with architects, IP designers, verification teams, and program management to facilitate smooth integration of new features.
  • Develop test plans that document interactions with various hardware/software components.
  • Create and execute both directed and random verification tests.
  • Provide support for IP Release: milestone drop delivery to SoC teams, ensuring all deliverables are complete and meet deadlines.
  • Triage integration issues, identifying problems from IP, flow, or environmental factors.
  • Utilize simulation and debug tools (e.g., VCS, Verdi) for failure analysis and root cause identification.
  • Assist RTL and firmware engineers in resolving design defects.
  • Maintain and update IP documentation, including release details and known issues.
  • Support automation via scripting languages (Python, Perl) to enhance release and validation workflows.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and verification methodologies such as UVM.
  • Familiarity with simulation tools (e.g., VCS, Verdi) and experience in digital design verification.
  • Proficient in object-oriented programming (C++, SystemVerilog) and scripting (Python, Perl, Shell, or Ruby).
  • Experience with Unix/Linux environments.
  • Self-driven, with strong analytical mindsets and effective teamwork skills.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
