Design Verification Engineer - Data Accelerator

Role Overview

The Data Accelerator (DACC) team at Advanced Micro Devices is looking for an ASIC Design Verification Engineer to focus on various aspects of IP verification. This position involves collaborating on technologies that are integral to AMD ASICs across different markets including Servers, AI, Clients, and Embedded systems. The role encompasses developing customized hardware offload engines for tasks such as encryption, authentication, and GPU/CPU computing.

Experience Level

This is a professional-level position requiring extensive experience in ASIC functional verification methodologies and practices. Candidates should have a strong technical background and a willingness to adapt to new technologies.

Key Duties

The following responsibilities will be expected from the engineer:

• Develop and maintain block level IP verification testbenches, along with the relevant methodologies.
• Triage regressions and debug simulations while analyzing coverage.
• Drive the Unified Test Plan (UTP) in collaboration with subsystem and emulation teams.
• Address issues in SoC integration and with the SoC DV teams.
• Implement top-notch verification methodologies like UVM and formal verification.
• Take ownership of key project features.
• Reproduce functional bugs through simulations.
• Engage in code reviews.

Required Skills

To be successful in this position, candidates should possess the following:

• Proficient in Verilog, System Verilog, C and C++.
• Experience with UVM in Linux and Windows environments.
• ASIC design knowledge and RTL code debugging capability.
• Strong programming skills, including exposure to scripting languages like Perl, Python, or Ruby and understanding of Makefiles.
• Knowledge of AI use in verification processes.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering is required.
