Role Overview
This position entails planning and executing the verification of new and existing features for AMD’s graphics processor IP. The objective is to ensure that the final design is free of bugs, prioritizing accuracy and efficiency throughout the verification process.
Experience Level
This role is suitable for candidates with a background in verification and digital design, who possess a strong understanding of processor architecture and are ready to engage in complex problem-solving.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with architects, hardware engineers, and firmware engineers to understand new features for verification.
- Create test plan documentation considering interactions with hardware, firmware, and software use cases.
- Estimate time for writing new feature tests and necessary test environment adjustments.
- Develop directed and random verification tests.
- Debug test failures, identify root causes, and collaborate with engineers to resolve issues.
- Review functional and code coverage metrics, modifying tests to meet coverage requirements.
Candidate Requirements
- Proficient in IP level ASIC verification.
- Experience debugging firmware and RTL code using simulation tools.
- Familiarity with UVM testbenches and working in Linux and Windows environments.
- Expertise in Verilog, System Verilog, C, and C++.
- Experience in developing UVM-based verification frameworks and automating workflows.
- Knowledge of DRAM protocol and PHY verification is preferred.
- Prior experience with AMS and GLS is advantageous.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
