Role Overview
The CPU Logic Design Student Worker position offers an opportunity to work with Intel's E-Core CPU team based in Guadalajara, Mexico. The student worker will collaborate with engineers to focus on the development of technology for future-generation CPU cores.
Job Summary
This role focuses on participating in logic design verification engineering, implementing new features and existing functionalities for Intel's CPU IP. The position demands a commitment of at least 30 hours per week over a one-year internship period.
Experience Level
This position is suitable for students pursuing a degree in areas like Computer Science or Electrical Engineering, ideally with at least one year remaining in their academic program. Prior experience in digital design is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop micro-architecture specifications for new design features.
- Perform and debug digital simulations, resolving bugs that arise.
- Produce functional coverage metrics and meet established coverage goals.
- Collaborate with architects and team members to ensure quality design outcomes.
- Deliver assignments punctually while working effectively in a cross-site team environment.
Essential Qualifications
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications, which include:
- Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
- Experience with digital design and hardware description languages (e.g., VHDL, Verilog).
- Familiarity with programming languages like C/C++, Perl, Ruby, and Python.
- Good understanding of computer architecture and ASIC design flows.
- Advance proficiency in English.
- Legal eligibility to work in Mexico, without the possibility of visa sponsorship.
Education Requirements
Candidates must be currently enrolled in a relevant degree program and have at least one year left before graduation.
