Role Summary

The CPU Core Functional Verification Engineer will focus on the functional verification of x86 microprocessor cores. The position involves creating verification plans and debugging issues with processor designs to ensure high-quality product delivery.

Experience Level

This position is suited for professionals with moderate to significant experience in digital design and verification, specifically in the architecture of microprocessors, aiming to enhance their skills in a challenging and innovative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Define and implement comprehensive test plans that include stimulus, checking, and functional coverage.
  • Debug regression failures and collaborate with designers to fix verification and design issues.
  • Analyze functional coverage metrics and work towards closing gaps in verification.
  • Assist with silicon observations, replicating issues in simulation to diagnose problems.
  • Develop verification stimuli using x86 Assembly and AMD's internal ISA exercisers, as well as writing UVM tests in System Verilog.

Requirements

Candidates must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, possess excellent communication skills, and have a collaborative spirit. Experience in complex processor architecture, digital design, and verification is crucial.

Education Requirements

A Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science, along with relevant industry experience, or a Master of Science in the same fields is required.
